Manoa Falls Bike & Hike
Ride away from Waikiki toward the mountains into Manoa Valley to experience a beautiful adventure in the Hawaiian rainforest. On your way, you’ll pass the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, the UH flagship campus. This route is a great combination of city riding and lush, green scenery as you make your way through the valley. Follow the road up to the base of Manoa Falls trail for a round trip hike that should take 1-2 hours. Make sure to bring your closed-toe shoes and bug spray; it’s often wet and muddy on the way to the falls. Note that there are no bike lanes or shoulders during some of the route. Riders should be confident and ready to share the road.
Get an additional workout in by adding the Tantalus Thigh Burner ride into your itinerary. Ride 7 miles of winding turns and cut back through the rainforest for unobstructed panoramic views of Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor, and the Punchbowl Cemetery.
